Saturday 11th June marked the fifth Global Wellness Day (GWD), which was celebrated around the world. With an international network of over 70 Global Wellness Day ambassadors, Kira Walton, Co-Founder of VOYAand Ireland’s own Global Wellness Day ambassador, had her paddle in hand, as she said ‘YES!’ to universal wellness.
A successful day filled with fun, laughter and most importantly, wellness, Kira and the VOYA team created a memorable day, made possible by the hard work and efforts of both supporters and local businesses. Commenting on the day, Kira Walton said,
‘I’m thrilled that Ireland’s Global Wellness Day was such as success and I’d like to thank everyone for all their hard work and contributing efforts. Global Wellness Day is not just a day of promoting wellness; it reflects team work and coming together as a community to help one another thrive. This is what we achieved on Saturday and we look forward to continuing this annual tradition for many years to come!’
Helping to make the day visually spectacular was Feehily’s Florist in Sligo and Printfix as helium balloons and pop up banners were provided to get momentum going before the day’s activities!
The day included in-demand classes led by Noleen from Ard Nahoo Eco Retreat, Fitness 4 All, YogaMeon and Sarah Middleton’s Beat It Dance School , each working to get the heart pumping as attendees moved closer to kick starting their wellness regime.
To keep energy levels high, Shells Sea Side Bakery offered snacks, as Good4U also provided baskets of super seeds. Total Produce West, another Sligo based company providing fresh fruit as did Deborah Sherlock from Root Juice who provided a range of smoothies and juices, ideal for quenching thirst throughout the day!
A very popular talk came from ‘Personal Change Coach’, John G, who gave insightful hints, tips and tricks on how to allow the mind to switch off in the evening, encouraging maximum energy and productivity the next day. Numerous attendees commented on how they would be putting this into practice over the coming weeks! Nutritionists Gabby Punch and Yvonne Daly from the Human Givens Institute gave talks on the approach to Optimal Health. ‘’To get our physical and emotional needs met, nature has gifted us our very own internal 'guidance programme' – this, together with our needs, makes up what we call the human givens.’’
VOYA would finally like to thank leading photographer Nicola Gillespie & videographer Mike Guckian from Sligeach films who were on hand to capture the event in spectacular fashion throughout the day and of course, all the Global Wellness Day supporters!
